Open Carry PA
"Open Carry Pennsylvania is proud to endorse Brian Shank in his run for Erie County Sheriff. Shank, who currently represents District 5 in Erie County Council, has spent his life serving the Commonwealth and the Nation. As an Army veteran, police officer, corrections officer, and volunteer fire police officer, Shank has continually demonstrated his commitment to public safety and to upholding the Constitution.
Many politicians and law enforcement personnel speak about their commitment to the Constitution and to the Second Amendment, but are unwilling to take actions which are politically or professionally risky. Brian Shank, however, has proven willing to put his own skin in the game as one of the original Erie Eight who challenged the City of Erie’s unconstitutional violation of the State preemption statute, risking legal repercussions. This action was even more impressive considering that Shank was employed at the time as a state corrections officer.
During these trying times, the residents of Erie County need a Sheriff with a commitment to the preservation of their Constitutional rights and especially the Second Amendment. Brian Shank has demonstrated this commitment at personal risk to himself and his career. Brian Shank is THE pro-Constitution, pro-2A candidate for Erie County Sheriff."
